Divine Design

I’ve been a huge fan of Amanda and Jolene of Domicile Interior Design for years now. In 2009 I featured a bedroom they designed (click here to see it), and it’s still one of my all-time favorites.
*
It made me wonder what it is it about their design style that is so unique?
*
First of all, they create these unusual color palettes. Beige, coral and yellow, not a color combo you see often, but the result is surprisingly wonderful. There’s this understated cheerfulness to it.
*
Second, their extensive use of brass and golden finishes. Isn’t that side table amazing?
*
I’m sure many of you recognize this dreamy home office from Rue Magazine. Beige yellow and turquoise this time.
*
Third, their impeccably arranged vignettes. Wish my desk looked like that =)
*
I featured this image in an earlier post about chic trays (click here to read it), photo via Rue Magazine. You can still enter my giveaway here to win a personalized acrylic tray ;)
*
The girls obviously master the art of mixing vintage with high end.
*
You can find beautiful hand made wall art here.
*
Pure eye candy.

I like the cheerfulness as well and the gold touches add warmth. I need to work on warmth in my house.

You are right about the color palette! The contrast of the black masculine tufted ottoman in what I perceive as a very feminine room is surprisingly pleasant!
