Flea Market Finds: Glass Revolver

March 26, 2011 in Home office, Modern, Orange

One of my absolute favorite things to do is to go treasure hunting at flea markets and thrifts stores. I recently came across this fantastic glass revolver and it screamed my name, so of course I had to take this baby home. Isn’t it fabulous? (and almost invisible)

I believe this was originally used as a bottle for some kind of alcohol. If you know more about this, please enlighten me =)

I also got this amazing geode for a mere $1.00, can you believe it??!

Yesterday I started craving orange (the color, not the fruit), so I did that quick painting. I added the golden nailhead trim to give it some oomph, what do you think? Silly? This of course lead to a minor office nook updating mission. Promise to share some pictures when it’s all done, although I despise how my bare wooden walls come out in pictures (and in real life for that matter). Hopefully we will move soon, so it stays.

  4. I love the edginess of the revolver!! But I also have to say..my eyes were drawn to the frame. It looks so high end and chic. I really truly want to copy it.

  5. The glass revolver is hilarious. It would be right at home here in Texas. Love your painting!

  6. I absolutely adore the glass revolver. The fact that it is glass gives it a perfect amount of edge, while also being kind of chic. LOVE!

  7. Wow! Beautiful and dangerous all at the same time! Good finds!

  8. Very unique! What a cool find. I love how you never know what you’ll discover at a flea market!

  9. holy crap! what an outrageous amazing couple of finds! i love to go treasure hunting too, but around this area it usually means finding extremely worn junk from the 80s that came from wal mart to start with!

  10. i love this! i can’t help but think tho… I’d hate for it to just blend in and not get the proper attention it deserves! I would probably experiment with some white paint and water and rinse it around in there to make it look like a white lacquered revolver- that way it will POP and not be a wallflower! although, there’s something so understated about it being clear! LOVE this find!

  11. i love the revolver, what a find!!

and bare wooden walls can have such a clean, crisp feel – look forward to seeing the pictures.
