Favorite Black and White Kitchen… And What’s to Love about it

This black and white kitchen is such a beauty, I never tire of it. I don’t fall in love with kitchens very often, but there is so much uniqueness to this room that makes it absolutely unforgettable. Let’s start with the obvious; the over-sized lantern. Such a great focalpoint, and a great way to define the dining space when opting out of a rug. Works wonders!

The second striking feature is the white top and black bottom. Although opting for differently colored cabinets isn’t that unusual anymore, this is definitely the best example I’ve seen to date. The reason is the way the black tile floor and cabinets are balanced into the white, by the black window frames.

…did I mention the black window frames? I absolutely love black frames, what’s your opinion of them?

i love the backsplash and black floors {although, they must be hard to keep clean!} this kitchen is so elegant.

I LOVE the black window frames! I have had this picture on my Pinterest for quite a while now and I am taking baby steps to paint my windows and patio doors black. I painted the window grids so far and love them. Hopefully in the next week I can finish the rest. I will let you know how they turned out. Great post as I have always loved this kitchen as well. I’m in love with this kitchen! I’m more of a baker then a cook but I adore kitchens and this one is stunning.
My favorite part is the color scheme and the floor. Everything looks so sophisticated but approachable at the same time.
And you are right, the windows are amazing.

I FULLY agree, Tommy Smythe is a genius and I adore this kitchen, it is one of my most favorite of all time! Too many things to list that I love … but of course the white uppers and black lowers is a big one. And those herringbone pattern tiles. YUM.
