Light Sophisticated Bedroom
October 10, 2010 in Bedroom, Beige, Classic, Color Palette, Feminine, Soft and Light, White
I came across this beautiful sophisticated bedroom on Canadian House and Home:
*
The backdrop is light and soft, with creamy walls, carpet and drapes. I love how the designer used espresso brown around the room for contrast. The headboard is simply framed wallpaper. The drum pendant lamp ain’t too shabby either. See how the pattern on the bedsheets make a wonderful transition between the soft cream and the strak contrasting color. And the curtains, isn’t the sheer rouge lining a beautiful touch?
*
I love this end of the bedroom. Pull up the corner chair and you’ve got a great vanity table. I bet that wide drawer can hold a ton of beauty articles ;)
*
The wall color is BM Berkshire Beige. I was really surprised that the wall color is that dark, so I had to check it out:
*
See? The beige in the color palette doesn’t even look like the same color in this “paint swatch”. And yes, it is the same color. Isn’t it crazy how much a color changes in different contexts?!

You are so right, paint colors can change completely depending on the room, the lighting, the windows, etc. Amazing isn’t it? A lesson to all of us to test our colors out before we commit cause it may not look the same in our space!

Colour can be very chameleon-like. The time of day, the other colours in the room, shadows… so many elements can effect how a colour looks.
The bedroom is really pretty — love the headboard :-)

Lovely room…great post. Completely agree with the madness that is the way paint can change on you!
