Amazing “Aqua and Yellow” Living room!

I’m so excited about these images! A couple weeks ago I spent about an hour trying to find the designer of this fantastic room, but to no fruition. Now look what I stumbled across on the always fabulous Decorati Access?! This room is designed by (drumroll please) Philip Gorrivan and photographed by Michael Graydon.

A closer look =)
*
The amazing thing with this living room is the fact that the architecture and furniture is very traditional, while all the modernness is due to color and pattern. Wouldn’t you say?
*
Another Closeup…
*
Semi circle home bar clad in white alligator skin and embellished with nailhead trim? I’ll have a whisky please!

Head over to Decorati Access to read a great interview with Philip Gorrivan!
[Whoops! Had comments turnes off, my bad. Should be open now =)]

I recall seeing this room in Canadian House and Home. I just pulled my issue – it was in Jan 2009 and there was very little mention of the designer until the end – mostly the article was about the homeowner and her vision for the house. Glad to see that the designer is now getting the credit he deserves! Thanks for sharing!

YAY Linda!!! Your detective skills are excellent my friend :) I knew it was Victoria Websters home but I wanted to know the designer :) I just love this home, it is so memorable. And I WANT the beach print soooo bad you have no idea. I was also trying to figure out the photographer of the print, my guess is Massimo Vitali. LOVE!

Oh how I love this room! The color is so cheery and fun, but the space so traditional. You’re so right. And I too want that beach print so bad!!

Hey there-love all the rooms that show- keep up the good work!! As for this room- I am Canadian and have seen this room twice now- once as stated above in the magazine- Canadian House and Home Jan 2009, and then again in a more recent issue of Canadian House and Home (sorry can’t remember). Anyways-the owners have updated the Living room even more by having what amounts to “Grafitti” all over the walls- Gone is the great Wallpaper and in it’s place is a “hot mess”- and I mean that in a bad way. In my opinion-it looks HORRIBLE. But then again it’s not my house. But to me it is just doing something to be pretentious or I don’t know what- I am all for creativity but this- I just don’t get it. It was a beautiful room and now it is way over the top. Try and find the pic- if I can find it I will let you know. Again love seeing everything you post

This is such a pretty living room. It’s bright and happy and elegant and fun, all rolled into one :-) Love the architectural detailing in the ceiling and in the doorway, and those big windows are fantastic.

Hey Linda.
Check out this link and see a video tour of Victoria’s home. I work for House&Home and got the chance to view Victoria’s place for myself. She made some daring choices but I think that it all works!
