This room was featured in the September 2005 issue of Elle decor. I find it so fascinating how many of the elements in this room, designed at least 6 years ago, are at the height of fashion today. Gold accents? Check! Chevron pattern? Check! Mirrored furniture? Check! Lucite details? Check! The neat book stacks for coffee table decor? Check!

Remember THIS home designed by Lynn Morgan? Well here’s another favorite amongst her work. She started with a crisp white base and layered black to balance out the visual weight of the fireplace, and popped it all with coral pink. The stark color contrast is underlined by the strict symmetry and hard edges. A bit Scandinavian if you ask me =)
This picture had me at hello. Love how they painted the walls, bookshelf and window frames in a high gloss rich blue color. Orange always works well with blue, they aren’t complimentary colors for nothing =)

Usually I stick to decor on this blog, but what I’ve experienced the last couple of days makes me want to remind you all to be thankful for every breath you get to take. My beloved black persian cat Prince Plastic became violently ill on Tuesday night, I saw him gasp for air as his lungs filled with fluid, and there was nothing I could do.
