This beautiful living room instantly caught my eye on Pinterest. The color palette is absolutely striking. Aqua blue, chartreuse and purple on beige. Yes please! This room instantly reminded me of another beauty I’ve been drooling over for a long time:

THE PHENE via CROP

I came across this amazing purple room on Pinterest, and immediately fell in love with the  wonderful atmosphere and the endless glamour. After a little investigative journalism, I found it to be The Phene restaurant in London.

THE PHENE via AN AMERICAN GIRL IN CHELSEA

A beautiful specimen of the sun mirror, layered on top of a floor-to-ceiling mirrored fireplace definitely constitute the focal point of the room. Apart from the gold ceiling, the room is decorated in a monochromatic color scheme of purple. Velvet fabric adds a heaviness and shine that I always find very glamorous. Here’s a tiny slideshow with a few more pictures; enjoy:

This gorgeous living room is designed by Kwinter & Co. The walls are all white, softened with gray and beige and contrasted with dark brown.

This room contains two distinct but integrated conversation areas. The two orbit chandeliers makes such a beautiful statement in this room, don’t you think?

Here’s a peek into the dining room.

How beautiful is this photo? Clean, simple and classic. Love the use of winged chairs at the ends of the table.

The crystal lining of the beautiful cream drapes is my favorite detail in the entire house.

I just love Style at Home‘s High/Low series. This boudoir cost $10,000, click here to see it  done for only $4,000. It’s nearly identical!

beige blue green coastal style living room design

Design by J. Savage Gibson, image via My Home Ideas

Here is a beautiful beige living area accented with blue and green. Notice how the color scheme in this room is built up in three “layers”:

  • The Beige works as a warm neutral background.
  • Teal is layered on in furniture, area rug and accessories.
  • Green is limited to the accents.

Do you see it? The result is a harmonious and pulled together room. Apart from forming a great color relationship with blue, the green adds interest and pulls your eye throughout the room. How about you? Do you think in terms of layering when you decorate?

Just came across designer Kathleen Hay and I’m already hooked! Kathleen creates the most beautiful spaces with a lot of reference to nature.

I’m starting to realize I have a slight obsession with seashell print fabrics. The color of the accent pillow is totally inspired by the seashell prints on the wall, and I can’t help but think about Maya at Completely Coastal, she picked her wall color right from her favorite shell. So creative =)

Back to Kathleen.. there’s just something about a blue and green color palette like this.. it always makes me think of grass and the sky.. Kathleen’s portfolio is chock full of gorgeous photos, and they are really high res too, so you get to see all the beautiful textures she combines in her work. I urge you to take a look!

Simple, light, airy and coastal.. what a beautiful living room. I love how the circles break up the clean lines and squares in this room.
