Colorful Teen Bedroom

November 22, 2010 in Bright, Color Palette, Home office, Hottest Designers, Modern, Multicolor, Teen Bedroom, White

If you hadn’t noticed, I’ve posted a link to an anonymous online survey at the top of my right sidebar. I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to answer my short list of questions =) One of your requests was to see more teen bedrooms, and since your wish is my command, lets kick it of with this amazing teen girls bedroom designed by Amanda Nisbet:

*

It’s a colorful treat on a white backdrop. The room is set on a brown and pink striped carpet. I wonder if this West Elm daybed doubles as a bed, or if there is another bed in this teen room? The yellow sidetable is called Trollsta and is from at Ikea, while the silver pouf is available at the Cross Design.

*

The color palette is defined by this fun collection of accent pillows.

*

And for good measure, here is a breakdown of the color palette for you ;)

*

Amanda chose this fabulous Mason Wood Top Desk and combined it with the Surf Office Chair and interesting Bracket Shelves. Chrome and white is the red line here. Notice how the colors of the room are represented in the details.

*

This beautiful white dresser has all a girl needs for getting ready; a large mirror, some great lighting and of course a bright yellow jewelry box.

Happy Monday friends!

One of the hottest trends on the coffee table front is the brass variety. I’m sure most of you have already seen this gorgeous living room posted in D Magazine this summer:

Top Designer Fabric Source

October 23, 2010 in Bedroom, Blue, Bright, Chic, Dining room, Hottest Designers, Living room, Modern, Multicolor, Orange, Turquoise, Wallpaper / Tiles / Murals

Have you ever wondered where your favorite designers go to find the amazing fabrics they use in their designs? Actually, I know a lot of you do, as I get fabric inquiries all the time. For those of you that haven’t heard of Quadrille Fabrics, prepare for some serious eye candy:

*

quadrille fabrics

Quadrille offer both wallpapers and fabrics, along with outdoor versions of many of their fabrics. The wallpaper in the image above is Trellis Background in the colorway “Orange on Tint” and the blue fabric is called Lyford Background in the colorway dark “Turquoise on White”, both from their China Seas collection.

*

These curtains are called Paradise Background from Quadrille’s own line. The colorway is called “Orange on Tint”. The bedroom is designed by Kendall Wilkinson and shot for Traditional Home. This bedroom is so colorful and fun, and the structured valances makes me think of a circus. You can see more photos of this room in my previous post. You’ll notice that the walls in this bedroom isn’t actually turquoise, but blue!

*

The blinds in this traditional modern living room is Abaco Stripe from their China Seas line in the “Turquoise and Beige” colorway. You can’t really see it in the image above, but the designer picked the yellowish beige from the fabric and used it on the ottoman coffee table. I spy cobalt blue seagrass wallpaper too. Gorgeous room indeed. This living room is photographed for House Beautiful (If anyone can tell me the name of the designer and photographer I’d love to know ;)

*

I bet most of you recognize this gorgeous table setting by designed by Eddie Ross. The fabric is Kazak by Quadrille in the colorway “Orange pale Magenta on Tint”. I adore how Eddie added turquoise into this equation, and the extensive use of brass makes me think of Arabian Nights with magic lamps and flying carpets. Notice how Eddie used the Kazak fabric as multiple runners instead of one single tablecloth. It’s the most stunning table setting I’ve seen in a long time. I have to add that Eddie’s blog is a must-read too!

“Turquoise on Tint”  San Marco wallpaper from Quadrille’s China Seas collection. Another happy color combination of turquoise and coral in this dining room designed by Ashley Whittaker and shot by Eric Piacecki for House Beautiful. The tiny vibrant pattern of the wallcoverings and the graphic pattern of the diamond jute rug sets a perfect backdrop for the monochromatic upholsteries of the drapes and dining chairs.

Hope you found some inspiration in these images, have a great weekend everyone!

Eye Candy by Tobi Fairley

October 14, 2010 in Bedroom, Beige, Bright, Chic, Hottest Designers, Orange, Porch/Sunroom, Turquoise

Back to business! I promised you something snazy didn’t I? Well, here’s some colorful eye candy designed by the one and only Tobi Fairley and featured in Traditional Home:

*

Tobi designed this bedroom for an energy-efficient charity showhouse using recycled furnishings, organic fabrics, and low-VOC paints. Have you noticed how Tobi frequently use large scale frames in her designs? Usually with colorful seashell prints and hung in an orderly fashion. It’s like her m-o and I love it!

*

The color palette of turquoise and orange is divine! Nothing beats two “happy colors” in one room!

*

This is the sunroom. I love how Tobi stuck to the same basic color palette of the bedroom, adding some deeper shades.

*

And what do we have directly opposite of the seating area? A soft drink buffet of cause! Wouldn’t you just love to snuggle up in that daybed with a good book and a refreshing beverage? I know I would!

*

As usual, head over to Traditional Home’s blog to see the rest of these rooms and the complete source list! And while you’re at it, check out Tobi’s wonderful blog for more exclusive pictures, including before and afters!
