Hi Friends! Hope you are all doing wonderfully well, and are enjoying the Holidays. I’ve been on a painting streak lately, and as I promised, I will share more photos of my works. Our apartment is drowing in paintings at the moment, and if I’m to keep up my hobby at this rate, I’ll need to open a tiny art shop LOL!  That would be a fun venture for 2012? How about you, have you made any resolutions yet? New year, new possibilities, right? Have a wonderful evening my Friend =) xox Linda

Hi guys! Are you having a fun and/or relaxing weekend? Mine would be best described by the latter word, although painting is a lot of fun in addition to being relaxing =) And since we bought a DSLR camera this summer, I’m trying to better my photography skills (which at the moment is non-existent). Leaning to the saying that practice makes perfect, I’ll post some here (which is no pressure at all..)

INTERIORS MAGAZINE / LYNNE SCALO

That artwork. Amazing.

Usually I stick to decor on this blog, but what I’ve experienced the last couple of days makes me want to remind you all to be thankful for every breath you get to take. My beloved black persian cat Prince Plastic became violently ill on Tuesday night, I saw him gasp for air as his lungs filled with fluid, and there was nothing I could do. He miraculously made it through the night, but the condition worsened and he was put to rest on Wednesday. 36 sleepless hours. Take a deep breath and

Yet another interior designer has found her way into my heart, and this time it’s Christina Sullivan Roughan of Roughan Interior Design. I’m in total awe of this beautiful light living room. The balance between traditional and coastal is just sublime.

The color palette of beige, creams and blue is accented with chrome accents and bold patterns. The large sea life prints are undoubtedly my favorite feature of this room though, they are so unexpected and fun.

Cute sea life prints. What do you think?

THE CROSS DECOR & DESIGN via ADORE MAGAZINE

Ever since I laid my eyes on this beautiful image on my friend Nancy’s blog Marcus Design, I couldn’t stop thinking about that glorious three part, individually framed octopus print. Can you blame me?

Lord Bodner Octopus Study print via VANDM.

According to Natural Curiosities the print is originally taken from a copperplate engraving by Lord Bodner and was published in 1826 in London as part of a series studying creatures of the deep. I haven’t been able to find any more information on Lord Bodner, although I’d love to learn more about his work.

 BROWN PRINT / BLUE PRINT

The octopus art print is available in the colorways brown and blue, and as a one piece print (42×54 in/ 107×137 cm, $750), or split into three individual prints:

OUTER BANKS TRADING GROUP

The size of the individual print is 20×48 in (51×122 cm), total price is $1,650.00. Hmm… the three piece print is over twice the price of the one piece print. Might be tempted to buy the latter and cut it into three pieces myself. Notice that the print isn’t just cut into three parts though, a piece has been trimmed away at each side of the middle part to accommodate the matting/frame and gap between the frames when hung on the wall.

This print is also available in brown, which I think is the the colorway that The Cross Decor and Design used in the living room (first image).

LEFT PRINT / MIDDLE PRINT / RIGHT PRINT

And for those of us with a mortal wallet, here’s a more affordable alternative from AllPosters.com. Each print is 12×32 in (30×81 cm), total cost $105. Turquoise is nice, but I’d love to see these prints in other (less bright) colorways.

Now how about you? I’m sure this isn’t everyone’s cup of coffee, would you want to decorate our wall with a giant octopus print?

With the holiday season on our doorstep I’m  taking this opportunity to feature some gorgeous coastal photographies by Angela Moralewitz of Bugaboo Studios:

What I love about Angela’s photos is her amazing attention to texture and shadows. Isn’t this a stunning picture?

*

Just beautiful. Reminds me of a dog sleeping on a soft carpet for some reason. Very serene.

*

I can imagine this coral closeup as a huge photo above my sofa. I want this!!

*

Just another beauty resting on a piece of driftwood.

*

I love the vignette Angela created around this beautiful starfish photo.

Hope you enjoyed this last bit of summer :)
