MARK WILLIAMS DESIGN / YUMMY SCRUMPTIOUS

This living room made my heart skip a beat. The softness of the sheer draperies and the subtle patterns adds such a great depth to this traditionally styled living room. New traditional is definitely a good description for this beautiful home.

KELLY PROXMIRE

A clean color palette of brown and white is a sure hit if you are aiming for a elegant and sophisticated look in your home. The point is proven in this beautiful living room designed by Kelly Proxmire.

With such a simple color palette, the details are all the more important. White molding creates depth not only on the ceiling, but also on furniture and doors. Notice how Kelly combines damask fabrics with chevron and dots in the next photo:

The deep rich paint color is such a wonderful backdrop for curvy white furniture like this, don’t you think? I really see the gorgeous details in the ceiling as the icing on the cake. Such a delightful detail.

This beach house has had me drooling for the longest time, I’ve been looking for larger images, but I just can’t keep myself from posting these anymore. The images are via House Beautiful, are shot by Franscesco Lagnese and designed by the one and only Jim Howard. HB has a great interview (and lots more pictures) to go with this home, so head over there to see the rest ;) Okay, so according to HB the wall paint in this lovely living room is BM Shenendoah but the Shenendoah I know is green, not blue, so I’m creating my own color pick to recreate this look; BM Sapphire ice. You be the judge:

Did we just spot a new case of interior photoshopping? Maybe so, but I’m willing to bet this room looks great in both colorways.

The living room seating area is designed around a summery rattan sofa, keeping to the blue (or green?) color theme.

Just had to feature this gorgeous guest bedroom too, isn’t it something else? LOVE the black contrast to the light walls and fabrics, and the canopy piping is just the perfect touch.

I matched this color to Pantone 414 C, which should be the color equivalent to Benjamin Moore’s Pikes Peak Gray, which is a tiny bit less yellow and more red.

UPDATE: Sweet Margot shared her secrets in the comments below:

hey all, I’m a bit late to this post but here are the deets: the wall colour is Farrow & Ball paint in Lamp Room Gray. The shower curtain is custom. I had it made from a Victoria Hagan Home fabric called Four Seasons in the colour Winter. cheers! M

Anne Coyle designed this beautiful living room with a color palette of cool soothing blues with vibrant pops of pink and coral:

cold blue and lilac living room

I love a good symmetric layout, and that coffee table is gorgeous!

Side view. Would you use cool colors like this in your home?

Color palette light blue pink coral

The paint color looks like Benjamin Moore Silver Cloud.

cool blue and lilac living room with fireplace

The wall opposite of the sofa has a beautiful fireplace and a cozy seating area for two. I have noticed that art pieces like the one above this mantle is often used with light blue color schemes, like in this and this previous post. Coincidence? Light blue does look great combined with metallics.

This is a color estimation as requested by reader Liz:
