House Beautiful created this wonderful article on a one-day living room makeover. It’s so much fun to get to see the transformation take place, you don’t want to miss out on this one! The thing that really caught my eye, right after the beautiful color palette and the bold patterns, was the amazing indigo and white tie dyed rug. Fab isn’t it??
George II chandelier
What better way to start the new year than by enjoying some serious eye candy? Horchow certainly has a lot of that to offer:
*
Retro Glamour chandelier, White Coral chandelier
There are so many insanely beautiful chandeliers out there, how could you possibly choose just one? Guess the choice becomes easier when you have an actual room to place it in..
*
Tuxedo chandelier, Openwork chandelier
I generally think black lamp shades are a bad idea, but this chandelier I like. How about an open style chandelier? Better source of light I guess.
*
White baroque chandelier, Andretti chandelier
Classic white versus red hot?
*
Baroque mirror
Love white on brown! Always looks clean and sophisticated.
*
Oversized beveled mirror, venetian mirror
I’m a huge sucker for moody pictures, I’m sure a great photo could sell me anything haha!
*
Venetian Scroll mirror, white fretwork mirror
Beautiful mirrors in intricate frames. Real showstoppers.
*
Catherine sconce
How about a classic scone? Such beautiful details on this one.
*
Regatta wall sconce, Pagoda sconce
I don’t know what is more perfect; the sconces or that door?
*
Bird on a Branch candle holders, oversized wall lamps
Love and Love. Enough said.
*
Speckles cowhide rug
Love these gold and silver speckled cowhide rugs, but since I don’t eat cows, I won’t be getting one of these ;)
*
Ikat rug, Pearl Blocks hide rug
Ikat is taking over the world. And so is cowhide rugs.
*
City Splash hide rug, Arabesque rug
I must admit this cowhide rug is just gorgeous, what do you think? If you prefer something more bold, the “Arabesque” rug might be something for you =)
*
Scroll side table
Organic lines and swirls have bin huge for a while now. How do do feel about this trend?
*
Crocodile embossed table
Just had to include this fun crocodile embossed table. Can be used as side table or paired up as a coffee table.
*
Flowers side table, Atlas side table
Beautiful lines and shapes.
*
Purple faux flowers
Pretty faux flowers. Great idea to put water in the vase, makes them look more real.
*
Glass obelisk, horse statue
Pretty trinkets.
*
Metal bamboo sconces, jewelry boxes
Hope you saw something you liked =)

I’m loving the atmosphere (amongst a lot of other things) in this moody living room. It’s designed by David Scott and photographed by Marili Forastieri. Whenever I see gray paired with (burnt) orange I can’t help but think bachelor pad, anyone with me on this?
*
Take a look at the sofa, it’s trimmed with nailheads *swoon*. I wonder If the whole room is covered in silver wallpaper or if it is just this little nook? What do you think? It’s hard to tell.
*
Looks like a Carini Lang area rug to me! After all the zebra frenzy, it’s pretty nice to see an alternate animal pattern for a change. Refreshing.
*
I LOVE the glass balls. On another note; great idea to keep your parsley in the living room, especially for those with bad plant mojo haha!
*
Fresh and fun koi fish wallpaper. The powder room is the perfect space to go all out with your wildest wallpaper fantasies, right?
*
This room that I came across on Redbook Is very well styled for Fall:
*
Lot’s of soft pillows and a warm zig zag throw to snuggle up in. Can you believe those lovely curtains are from Ikea? The photo is credited to Eric Piasecki, he’s the same photographer that shot the gorgeous blue living room in my previous post “Look what I managed to dig up“. If you take a tour of Eric’s portfolio you’ll surely recognize some Pottery Barn images as well. Yes, he’s one of the geniuses behind the PB Catalog!

Here are some of the sources I recognized right away:
Ikea Curtains , Flower Pillow, Sunburst Pillow, Green Area Rug, Zig Zag Ikea Throw,
*
A great mix of affordable and luxurious, wouldn’t you say?

Before creating this website, I had a tiny file on my computer with my favorite interior pictures. That tiny file has grown into 500 files with 7000 images by the way. But I digress. Well, one of the pictures in that tiny file of mine was a smaller version of the pic below. Ever since then I have been in love with the print hanging over the sofa, but haven’t been able to find out anything about it. Yesterday as I was looking through the portfolio of Kwinter & Co Design, it turned up again, and now I am asking you if you happen to know anything about it?
*

And here it is.
*

Now let’s take a look at the rest of this gorgeous room. The living room is actually white with rich gray carpeting and a beige cowhide flower rug (available here). The wall behind the gray velour sofa is completely covered in mirrors. Nice glass coffee table too.
*

Side view. Black lamp shades are pretty and creates a good mood, but is not for lighting up, that’s for sure. But who cares when you have windows like that in the living room?
*

A folding screen is mounted on the wall as artwork behind a white cabinet.
*

Here is a closer look at the deep brown armchairs. Beautiful carvings and nailhead trim.
*
Designer Kendall Wilkinson is the creator behind this bright joy of a bedroom:
*
The walls and trim is blue all the way from top to bottom, with a white ceiling and a warm chocolate carpet. The pops of complimentary color orange adds a lot of fun and brightness.
*
Behind the bed is a huge mural of a white tree with little orange birds.
This is also the first time I have ever seen anyone place sconces over table lamps!
*
The headboard is clear glass (or plastic?).
*
Do you like this color combo? I’ve always been a sucker for blue/orange..
*
Blue chairs with ears (LOL)!
*

And a glass table, “matching” the headboard.
