Curvy Headboard + Coral Bedding = LOVE

August 31, 2011 in Bedroom, Coastal, Look for Less, Peach / Coral, Red, White

This gorgeous bedroom has me dreaming every time I see it. It’s one of Phoebe Howard‘s many masterpieces, and I’ve been drooling over that curvy dream of a headboard for about 3 years now.

*

Needless to say, I was quite satisfied when I ran across the very same bed at Candelabra. It’s upholstered in Raffia and decorated with nailheads. I Love that the entire bed is upholstered, and not just the headboard. I could definitely get a good night’s sleep in that beautiful bed. On second thought, I think the price tag of $2,400.00 would keep me awake…

*

Now have you ever tried to find nice coral colored bedding online? It’s not that easy. I always find Williams Sonoma has very pretty ones  though. The three in the image above are coral, solid and greek key. (ps. they are all on sale ;)

*

1. Curvy headboard with chunky linen in colorway Ivory, 2. Nailhead trim, 3. Coral bedding.

Not exactly Phoebe Howard material, but I think I could sleep well here too. The curvy headboard is covered with chunky linen in colorway Ivy, the nailhead trim is $3.99 for 100 nails, and the coral bedding is $384.00 for the entire set (king size). Yup, better sleep indeed.

PS: I’m finally on Pinterest, and I’m looking for inspiring people to follow ;)

Brilliant Brown and Gold Bedroom

August 16, 2011 in Bedroom, Brown, Glamorous, Gold, Hottest Designers

This amazing bedroom belongs to the lovely Dayka at Life + Style. Dayka is (obviously) a designer  and also co-founder of Room Service Atlanta along with Erika Ward, a non-profit organization assisting families in making the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Super talented AND gives back!

*

I’ve been following Dayka’s blog for years, simply because I adore her sense of style. Isn’t her bedroom amazing? I love the warm atmosphere of the rich brown walls, contrasted by crisp white and accented with gold.

*

Of course, the bedding doesn’t hurt either. Successfully combining ikat, polka dots and heavy stripe is a feat in itself, and Dayka makes it seem effortless.

*

A closer look at the amazing polka dot bedding. I want!!

*

Best of all, Dayka is an avid thrifter and DIYer, so all furniture pieces you see in these images are the result of her magic hands. This bedroom will be published in its entirety in a national media outlet (secret for now), and I can’t wait to see it!! Go check out her blog for more inspiration!

Casual Cute Bedroom with a Touch of Glamour

July 28, 2011 in Bedroom, Mirror / Wall Acessory, Mood Board, Natural, Soft and Light, Steal the Style, Yellow

Came across this lovely bedroom on Better Homes and Gardens, nice isn’t it? I just think it looks so light and casual, but with a perfect touch of glamour. The sisal area rug, bamboo mat blinds and shell chandelier are contrasted by metallic garden stools, a gorgeous sun mirror and a glass table lamp. And it’s all pulled together with the use of color.

Bedding Crush: Ralph Lauren’s Indigo Modern, ON SALE!

July 23, 2011 in Bedroom, Coastal, Nautical, Summer, White

I’ve been smitten with this bedding ever since I spotted it in an ad in Lonny a good while ago. It’s designed by Ralph Lauren, who took the tie dye to the next level and named it Indigo Modern. Best of all: It’s on sale at Dillards!

The color combination of white and navy blue is stunning. Looks clean and remind me of summer, tropical hotels and sailboats.

The collection has a lot of gorgeous patterns and textures to choose from, so the final result is up to you!

Beautiful blue herringbone fabric. I’m pretty sure that’s actually a chevron pattern, but if the people at Ralph Lauren calls it herringbone, I certainly won’t argue.

These tie dyed pieces are my favorite, I love it combined with the blue “herringbone” print.

So what do you think about this color combination? Is it something you could live with, or would the contrast be too stark?
