This moody bedroom is designed by none other than Thom Filicia, you probably recognize him from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy as the guy in charge of the interiors improvements.

This bedroom strikes me as having a perfect balance between male/ female appeal. The rich color of the walls and floor along with the horizontal lines are typically seen in more bachelor style interiors. Then you have the layering of fabrics which is so stereotypically feminine. I think layering in general is a very feminine way of decorating, creating little vignettes everywhere. I adore how Thom is able to combine these two opposites so beautifully.

We’ve seen this (morbidly) gorgeous bed before in the post called “Glamorous Fairytale Bedroom“. Click it to learn what material the bed is made from, and where to get it ;-)

BM Leave Havasu for the walls. The deep color is balanced with softer creamier shades and spiced up by pops of red.

The deep blue gray wall color is continued on the deep seated velvet arm chair. I love how velvet absorb and reflect light on differnt parts of the furniture at the same time. It gives an extra sense of depth, and the shine definitely yanks up the glam factor.

Thom didn’t stop at gold in this bedroom as he chose a pair of silver shaded floor lamps. A perfect spot for some R&R before bedtime.
