AT HOME IN ARKANSAS / I.O METRO (FURNISHINGS) / RETT PEEK (PHOTOGRAPHY)
I’m so in love with this gorgeous home featured in At Home In Arkansas. All furnishings are provided by I.O Metro, a furniture and home accents store I’d never heard of until today (but I’m already a fan!). This home is all about casual elegance, achieved by mixing designer classics with natural elements and textures. A rich shade of gray sets the scene, while heavy doses of white creates clean contrast. Tiny and well placed doses of brown adds depth to the room, while a muddy yellow provides just the right amount of sunshine and happiness.

The visually heavy bamboo blinds are juxtaposed by sheer white drapes. So simple and elegant.
Today’s inspiration is brought to you by the lovely Interior Design Company Vallone.

Isn’t this bedroom just lovely? Love the white, gray and blue color palette and the gorgeous zebra pillows ads the perfect edge.
*
A classic chest painted silver, serves as a bathroom console. Isn’t it amazing what a set of fabulous pulls can do? And of course, can’t keep myself from mentioning the nailhead trimmed walls! Click here to see a similar use of nailheads ;)
*
A beautiful kitchen with white cabinets and glossy tiles. I adore the styling of this room, the pops of blue.. perfect!
*
And last but not least; a gorgeous living room. The soft color palette of grays and light blues is perfectly contrasted with black and white. So clean and pretty!

This pretty sunroom is designed by Lee Ann Thornton of Thornton Designs. The light happy colors makes me yearn for spring. BTW I love the skirted table there ;)
Interior Designer Sara Story shows you a new way to set color to your home. Leave the walls white while you paint the ceiling and floor!

A long narrow room like this kitchen is perfect for some ceiling color. But the deep purple ceiling aside, check out the gorgeous painted pattern on the hardwood floors!

The way Interior Designer Janie Hirsch often use one color scheme throughout a whole house, really fascinate me! If you don’t remember the gorgeous blue home we looked at before, you can see it here. This time she has used a soft shade of yellow which she has combined with both white and dark stained wood:

Classic dining room with chandelier and a bouquet of white tulips.
*

The kitchen is very modern with stainless steel appliances.
*

But further into the room is the classic styles kitchen dining area. Cute blinds.
*

The living room is in an open plan solution with the kitchen as far as I can tell. Take a look at that mirror!
*

Even the bedroom is yellow. Bedroom idea: hang a curtain behind the bed to create a draped fond wall. And instead of a bench at the end of your bed, why not place you desk?

Remember this post? Well, here is another excellent example of how to do the nautical style in a subtle way:
*
Cream and navy blue living room. One detail that makes a great difference in adding a nautical feel is wood paneling half or one fourth of the way up to the ceiling. Keeping the Background light and accessorizing with navy blue does the trick.
*
A perfect mix of clean color surfaces and pattern is key. Stripes and plaid are both great for the nautical theme. When mixing pattern, be sure to pick very different patterns to go together, not two different striped patterns, but rather one striped and one checkered.

White and navy blue kitchen.

This blue and white nautical kids bedroom is just perfect! Double bunk beds. Check out the bed-lights.
